LIW-Road Trip Layover in Kansas City, MO June 14,15 & 16

"Goin' to Kansas City, ..."

Kansas City, Missouri will be a stop over on the trip to re-group and meet with farmgirls from the Heartland area.

Camping available Miller's Kampark, Liberty,MO , (816) 781-7724. This is a small mom & pop operation with a country store, pool and wireless internet. No tent camping, 50 amp is 31.08 for 2 and 30 amp is $30 for 2 guests. Each additional guest is $2.
Centrally located to downtown area and Kansas City North area.

Walmart parking lot located at 35 hwy and 152 hwy is available at no charge to campers. Will complete this entry as details come in.

Tent and camper camping at Shoal Creek Living History Museum, no charge, no hook ups, but water available and toilet facilities only, no showers. This is the location for the rendezvous with the Farmgirls of the Heartland.
Those of you joining for the day or finishing the tour to Mansfield,Missouri please RSVP. (This is the location of the Apron Gathering on September 18, 2010.)

Many, many interesting sites to visit include the organic dairy in Osborn, MO. Shatto Milk Company. Tours are 10:30 am only must have reservations. $5 fee.

Comanche Iris and Water Gardens in Gower, MO. www.comancheiris.com
Jim and Lamoine Hedgecock have 2,500 varieties of iris as well as daylilies and water gardens. (816) 424-6436. In June the daylilies will be blooming. The store will have iris, pond supplies and bird seed.

Harry S. Truman Presidential Library in Independence, MO.
Steamboat Arabia Museum is located in the river market area. A museum dedicated to the history of the pioneers. It's cargo is on display from nails and glass for building homes on the prairie to perfume, canned goods textiles, boots, hats, beads and china.
Hallmark Visitor's Center is located downtown with a children's visitor center named "Kaleidoscope". Both are no charge and very interesting.
Planter's Seed Company is also located downtown.
Many textile shops, antique and thrift shops abound.

Several farmgirls will be joining the tour at this point to finish the road trip. Look forward to meeting you!
