We will be leaving De Smet, SD on June 8 and traveling' approx 2 hours to Walnut Grove, MN.
Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum Tourist Center,
$25 w/electric or tent site $18 (first come first served). Two night minimum pre-paid. Shelter house 1/2 mile in upper park for meeting farmgirls is desired. Cancel 2 weeks before due date.
Lodging - B&B Valentine Inn in Tracey (8-10 min). Picturesque Victorian home.
The Wilder Inn Hotel ( a mom and pop place)
There are 8 buildings on the site. Self guided or a paid guide will take you back to a simpler time. The guide will also escort vehicles through town. The Sod house, outside of town, is an additional $4 fee. It is not part of the museum grounds.
The fee is $5 pp or hire a guide. Suggestion here is to pay $6 pp and this will pay for the tour guide and tip. This will be discussed.
LIW homestead charm bracelet available at this site. When making reservations mention the bracelet. We need to give them enough information if we want them for the trip. It has 7 charms and plenty of room for farmgirl charms.
In the gift shop $9.50 or with $6 additional postage. Walnut Grove oval charm with covered wagon and cattle available for $2.50 in silver and gold tone.

Endoline Rail Road Museum with turntable for engines is 20 miles. Sod houses on the prairie 20 miles outside of town also.
Great area shops include Olsen Mercantile, Ford Memories, stamping/scrapbooking at the Creamery.
Project Giving - We will be painting a very small red school house with white trim.
They will provide everything needed we provide the farmgirl power. It is small and with everyone pitching in it won't take long.
Reservations needed for this site are June 8 & 9. On June 10 we will travel approx 4 hours to Pepin, WI.
This is site #2 on the LIW Road trip. The museum will take approx 2 hours.
A morning visit is planned with plenty of time to explore the town and it's surroundings. Also, a picnic or meeting with farmgirls for the afternoon or evening.
